Job Description

A Chevrolet Certified Shop Foreman is a senior technician or supervisor in a Chevrolet dealerships service department who has met specific certification requirements set by General Motors (GM). Heres what that typically entails:

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision: Oversee the work of service technicians and ensure repairs meet GM standards.

Diagnosis Support: Assist with complex vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.

Training & Mentorship: Train junior technicians and promote best practices.

Quality Control: Inspect completed jobs for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Customer Interaction: Occasionally assist with difficult customer concerns or technical explanations.

Certification Requirements:

To be Chevrolet Certified a shop foreman must:

Be employed at a GM dealership.

Complete GMs training programs often through the GM STC (Service Technical College).

Maintain certifications such as:

GM Certified Technician status.

ASE certifications

Stay current on GM repair procedures tools and diagnostic systems.
