The GenAI Evaluation Media (GEM) org builds unique customer experiences based on visual media. Our north star vision is to deliver consistent high-quality and personalized visuals to customers throughout their Amazon shopping journey at low cost. We achieve this by building science Machine Learning (ML) primitives that understand existing visual media then intelligently select edit and generate visual content to suit each customers needs.
We are looking for a passionate Software Development Engineer who loves solving hard problems as part of a highly self-motivated team. Our specific engineering challenges span the complexities of scalable generative AI model hosting and human-in-the-loop asset analysis and annotations collections.
You will help lead a portion of our team focused on building hosting and serving dozens of ML and GenAI models. The team is building greenfield systems that are capable of generating and processing more than 200 million various 2d assets centered mostly images and videos to aid customers shopping decisions across their buying experience.
You will build and own full stack of software that leverages AWS machine learning (ML) and computer graphics technologies (2D/3D). You will build a core product across the whole software development life cycle in an entrepreneurial start-up like environment. You will design and build distributed systems building front end applications and backend services that can scale to millions of requests delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will build software that scales effortlessly has low latency is robust and extensible. You will work with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers machine learning scientists product managers and other software engineers.
Key job responsibilities As an SDE on our team youll be responsibile for building and maintaining both new greenfield applications and existing systems. Youll collaborate with product managers applied scientists and other SDEs to build scalable systems that generate evaluate and deliver high quality visual media (2d images 3d models videos etc.) to the retail website.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
