Job Description

  • Complete daily pre-use inspections prior to using a crane and other material-handling equipment
  • Follow and demonstrate proper rigging procedures and techniques
  • Move required material to the designated locations within the yard
  • Load joist and deck and other material on the trailers for shipping
  • Maintain control of load at all times
  • Properly and promptly report maintenance concerns
  • Shunt trailers in the yard (as required)
  • Advise workplace parties of quality issues/concerns as identified
  • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn at all times
  • Practice good housekeeping including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties
  • Comply with all legislated and companys health safety environmental quality and Lean policies procedures and programs
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Ability to operate an overhead crane forklift (combilift) and trucks (shunting)
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions everyday
  • Ability to read and understand job requisitions and the ability to work independently and as a team
  • Position also requires the physical ability to climb ladders onto trailers as necessary to secure product
  • Position requires the willingness to work overtime when needed to meet customer needs
  • Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 lb is also required
