Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Imaging Service Engineer to join our healthcare technology management team at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton NY. In this vital role you will be responsible for the inspection maintenance calibration and repair of diagnostic imaging equipment. You will work directly with clinical teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues ensuring patient safety and equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect troubleshoot repair and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment in a hospital setting
  • Calibrate imaging systems to meet performance standards and safety regulations
  • Interact with physicians nurses and hospital staff to identify and solve technology-based issues
  • Maintain detailed records of all service work equipment history and compliance reports
  • Support regulatory and safety compliance including Joint Commission and state/federal standards
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

  • Provide mentorship and technical training to junior staff

  • Maintain financial accountability for parts procurement and repairs

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in Biomedical Engineering Electronics or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in diagnostic imaging equipment service and repair within a healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with imaging systems including:
    • Hologic Mammography

    • Carestream Radiology Room

    • Fluoroscopy systems

    • Philips C-Arm

    • Philips/Carestream X-Ray

    • Cath Lab equipment

  • Excellent troubleshooting decision-making and technical problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and technical teams
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize service calls efficiently

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OEC training or certification is a plus

  • Experience mentoring or training junior technicians

  • Previous work in a multi-modality imaging environment
