Visiting Assistant Professor of Management - Sports Management

The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) to teach Sports Management with an anticipated start date of August 2026. To be appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor candidates must possess an earned doctorate degree in Sports Management or a related discipline. ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered. Professional experience in the sports industry is highly desired as is an MBA or related masters degree.

Responsibilities:

Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of courses in Sports Management. Candidates with expertise in areas such as sports marketing finance economics law or analytics are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in face-to-face hybrid and online delivery formats to support relevant programs within the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship. The preferred candidate will demonstrate experience teaching and mentoring a diverse group of students. They should also be able to contribute to fostering diversity of the campus curriculum discipline or department.

The home location is at the Denton campus although teaching may also be occasionally required at the Dallas or Houston campuses depending on the needs of the program.

COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY INFORMATION

The TWU Merrilee Alexander Kick College (MAK) of Business & Entrepreneurship currently has approximately 1066 undergraduate students and 1251 graduate students. The MAK College has three areas/departments: Department of Management & Marketing Department of Accounting & Finance and the Master of Healthcare Administration program.
