Extreme Heat Resilience Planner
Position: Extreme Heat Resilience Planner
Location: Lillooet Tribal Council Office (with travel to participating communities)
Reports To: Emergency Management Coordinator
Term: Full-Time Permanent

Job Summary
The northern Statimc Extreme Heat Resilience Planner will develop and implement a culturally
appropriate plan to address extreme heat risks in Statimc Nation. The role involves collaborating with
Indigenous leaders community members and professionals to assess vulnerabilities create mitigation
strategies and educate on heat stress and preparedness. By blending traditional knowledge with modern
resilience practices the Planner will enhance community safety and climate adaptation. The ideal
candidate is passionate about public health environmental sustainability and Indigenous-led solutions
ensuring the Statimc Nation is better prepared for heat events caused by climate change.


Key Responsibilities:
Develop implement and oversee a comprehensive extreme heat resilience plan for the northern
Statimc.
Coordinate training sessions and workshops focused on heat resilience and extreme heat
emergency response planning.
Collaborate with Health Advisory Committee Develop and implement the northern Statimc
Extreme Heat Resilience Plan in collaboration with community stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies providing recommendations
for continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Experience Include:
Bachelors degree in environmental science Public Health Indigenous Studies or equivalent
knowledge; or Grade 12 plus 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Experience working in First Nation communities engaging community members; youth leaders
and elders.
Understanding of climate change impacts particularly extreme heat and resilience strategies.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with traditional knowledge systems and practices of the Statimc Nation is an asset.

COMPENSATION
This position is full time includes a comprehensive benefit package and a wage range of $30.00 - $35.00
per hour.
