Lecturer II in Sports Management
The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship is searching for a Lecturer II in Sports Management beginning August 2026. This position supports delivering the BBA in Sports Management Program within the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business & Entrepreneurship.
Qualified candidates should possess relevant academic credentials and experience including expertise in sports analytics. COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY INFORMATION
The TWU Merrilee Alexander Kick College (MAK) of Business & Entrepreneurship currently has
approximately 1066 undergraduate students and 1251 graduate students. The MAK College
has three areas/departments: Department of Management & Marketing Department of

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Chair Management & Marketing Department and ultimately the Dean of the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business & Entrepreneurship
Supervisors: May work with graduate assistants as needed to provide high-quality educational experience for enrolled students.
PRIMARY DUTIES - May include but are not limited to the following:
Teaching undergraduate courses in Sports Management with the ability to integrate sports analytics concepts delivered in multiple teaching formats.
Serving as a member of the Sports Management faculty in the development enhancement and evaluation of Sports Management courses and the Program to continuously improve student learning outcomes/competency achievements and support the accreditation of the College.
Contributing to and being responsible for overall student success by generating opportunities to enhance student learning outcomes particularly in the area of sports analytics.
Working collaboratively with COB colleagues and other academic personnel to conduct and oversee academic quality including but not limited to program-level assessment related to Sports Management.
Collaborating with COB Sports Management faculty in designing planning and evaluating student learning and program assessment with a focus on analytical skills.
Attending regular monthly departmental meetings and retreats as schedule allows.
Supporting the College of Business in service positions as needed.
EDUCATION
Candidates must hold an earned Masters Degree in Sports Management Sport Analytics Business Analytics with a sports focus or a closely related field with graduate coursework relevant to sports management and analytics. Candidates with a graduate degree and significant years and breadth/depth of experience as an accomplished sports industry professional or leader with demonstrated experience in sports analytics will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred):
Demonstrated experience in applying analytical techniques and tools within the sports industry (e.g. data visualization statistical modeling performance metrics).
Familiarity with sports-related data sources and software (e.g. ESPN Stats & Info Opta Sport radar R Python Tableau Power BI).
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Evidence of incorporating experiential learning or real-world applications into coursework.
Professional connections within the sports industry.
