Job Description
Job Summary:The Staff Accountant is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing financial transactions within a manufacturing and service environment. This role involves recording and reconciling transactions managing accounts receivable and supporting month-end closing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record payments (credit card check wire) in ERP system
- Review incoming payments for proper documentation before recording receipt
- Manage bank transactions including deposits and transfers
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies in billing
- Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve billing issues
- Oversee collections and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records
- Reconcile accounts receivable with the general ledger
- Assist with journal entries and other month-end closing tasks
- Maintain accurate and organized supporting documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide ad hoc accounting support as needed
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- 15 years of experience in accounting payroll or related roles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
