About The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer youll be the key liaison between internal teams and external developers ensuring our systems support our mission and operations effectively. This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne (working from home and office) offering the chance to make a national impact while enjoying workplace flexibility and purpose.

This role will serve as the internal technical lead for Salesforce managing the coordination of external development work overseeing the quality and sustainability of the platform and acting as the go-to person for technical decision-making. It is not a hands-on admin or development position in the traditional sense but one that requires significant technical credibility and strategic oversight capability.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the internal technical owner of the Salesforce platform.
  • Coordinate all development and enhancement work delivered by external Salesforce partners.
  • Conduct peer reviews of code and technical designs to ensure platform integrity.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technically sound specifications.
  • Provide strategic advice on platform evolution and scalability.
  • Engage across business units to align platform solutions with organisational priorities.
  • Maintain documentation of architecture decisions and development standards.
  • Support and eventually supervise a junior Salesforce Administrator or Analyst as the function grows.

What Youll Bring

  • 67 years experience in Salesforce development and/or technical leadership roles.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong understanding of Apex Lightning Web Components security models and integration design (hands-on development not required but technical depth essential).
  • Experience working with external delivery partners or offshore development teams.
  • Track record of conducting code reviews and ensuring technical quality in a complex Salesforce environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to engage confidently across teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership work independently and lead platform strategy.
  • Proven experience in Salesforce administration and system coordination.
  • Proficiency in Flows validation rules dashboards and Lightning App Builder.
  • Strong understanding of system integration and data management principles.
  • Experience working with external vendors or development partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM201 or higher).
  • Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in membership-based or not-for-profit organisations.
  • Knowledge of Apex Visualforce and SOQL.
  • Familiarity with ticket triage and change control processes.
