Merchandiser Corn Protein- Decatur ILJob DescriptionReporting to the Commercial Manager Corn Protein this position is part of the merchandising team for Carbohydrate solutions focusing on the corn gluten meal market. Relocation assistance is available with this position.
- Integrate themselves into a team approach to product sales.
- Gain working knowledge of product and ADMs system of wet mills and coproduct production.
- Work daily with current customer base making sales writing contracts communicating regularly with ADMs customers.
- Become familiar with specific grind production and quality challenges that gluten meal present and be able to identify assess and execute shipment strategies and core market segments.
- Learn how a variety of markets and species value the product protein amino acid profile and other characteristics.
- Cooperatively manage a feed coproduct position within the framework of a team.
- Show the ability to source new customers or market segments that will help grow our domestic/North American portfolio.
- Be able to work fluidly in price discovery and market trends that typically would have an impact on the product.
- Work with the FOB Trucking group and our internal logistics team to promote best possible decisions in shipments and sales.
- Have the ability to work jointly with our internal bulk export and container export traders and provide guidance/feedback on values.
- Prove to be someone who can seek out new value streams (i.e. fertilizer aquaculture mushrooms etc) that could be applied as part of a growing customer base.
- Able to work directly with customers to troubleshoot AR problems and mitigate past due instances on customer accounts.
- Willing to be part of fast-growing ADM focus on domesticated animals and working with the dog/cat food/treat space.
- Able to network with industry partners and key ADM Coproducts contacts.
- Either have or will learn how to work through ADM IBM system for orders and contracting.
- Willing to participate and contribute in customer visits and relationship maintenance and building in a fun professional manner.
- Provide market summaries and feedback for both team members and leadership while gaining high level exposure in an expanding division carrying extremely high value.
- Keep track of pricing trends both current and historical and provide opinions on current and future pricing values.
- Will work in WAVE and joint access to projects that have sightline from senior leadership while also being able to critically and independently think of new concepts/projects to open within our group.
- Set and meet personal goals that align with our Coproduct business strategy.
Requirements:- University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics finance accounting).
- 2-5 years experience in the marketing of commodities and related food feed and/or fuel products in North America is a sales skills and a bold personality are assets in this position along with demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk fast-paced work environment.
- Proven ability of assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic trade.
- Proven ability to lead effectively within a team based work environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users suppliers and internal customers.
- Computer competent with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet database word processing software and applications within a windows based environment.
- Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies and safety programs.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
