Overview:
A well-established manufacturing facility in the Watertown CT area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead its facility and equipment maintenance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring uptime operational efficiency and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary maintenance team (electricians machinists custodial staff).
Implement and optimize preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues and provide technical support as needed.
Prioritize work orders allocate resources and schedule tasks to align with production goals.
Analyze recurring equipment failures and develop corrective strategies.
Enforce OSHA and safety compliance standards across all maintenance operations.
Maintain accurate records and reports for audits inspections and operational tracking.
Manage vendor relationships negotiate service contracts and oversee contractor performance.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities for maintenance personnel.
Coordinate building and facility improvements with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Solid understanding of HVAC electrical plumbing and building systems.
Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling and CMMS software.
Strong commitment to safety compliance and continuous improvement.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask and self-direct.
Flexible to support critical maintenance needs during off-hours if necessary.
