Job Description

Overview:

A well-established manufacturing facility in the Watertown CT area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead its facility and equipment maintenance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring uptime operational efficiency and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary maintenance team (electricians machinists custodial staff).

  • Implement and optimize preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues and provide technical support as needed.

  • Prioritize work orders allocate resources and schedule tasks to align with production goals.

  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and develop corrective strategies.

  • Enforce OSHA and safety compliance standards across all maintenance operations.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports for audits inspections and operational tracking.

  • Manage vendor relationships negotiate service contracts and oversee contractor performance.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities for maintenance personnel.

  • Coordinate building and facility improvements with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Solid understanding of HVAC electrical plumbing and building systems.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.

  • Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling and CMMS software.

  • Strong commitment to safety compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask and self-direct.

  • Flexible to support critical maintenance needs during off-hours if necessary.
