At St Vincents Private Hospital Melbourne our experienced team of clinical professionals care givers and support staff are equipped to provide the highest level of therapeutic medical and surgical services. We work together to ensure patient safety well-being and recovery. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy East Melbourne Kew and Werribee.
The services available at our Werribee campus include orthopaedic cardiology ear nose and throat plastic and reconstructive surgery urology general surgery vascular rehabilitation and oncology/infusions.
Facilities include operating theatres a day procedure unit oncology/infusion unit a cardiac catheter laboratory and a rehabilitation gymnasium.
About the role
We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our acute and rehabilitation team at our Werribee campus on a casual basis. You will be providing therapy to adults and adolescents across the hospital in a variety of services including orthopaedics general medicine geriatric medicine and rehabilitation.

ROLE IMPACT
A Grade 1 Occupational Therapist at SVPHM will have the clinical knowledge and undergraduate experience to enable them to provide evidence based effective patient care with the support and supervision of the senior physiotherapy team. They will demonstrate a desire and willingness to develop their knowledge base and clinical skills aspiring towards excellence in patient care.
A Grade 1 Occupational Therapist will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. They may be responsible for the supervision of an Allied Health Assistant.
A Grade 2 Occupational Therapist at SVPHM will have a broad experience base within the hospital setting while demonstrating an emerging interest in a specialty clinical area.
This skill base will allow a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to work independently and competently across the full spectrum of acute and rehabilitation services providing clinical support and supervision to junior staff and students as required. They will have a commitment to developing their skills and knowledge in the specialty area relevant to their role through attaining clinical experience and participating in quality improvement and professional development activities.
A Grade 2 Occupational Therapist will demonstrate emerging leadership skills. This may include collaborating with and supporting senior staff and management with continual service improvement and supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students.
