Major Position Responsibilities
- Assistswith the installation operation testing and adjustment ofvarious typesof conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
- Fabricates andmodifiesparts to make or repair machine tools ormaintainindustrial machines applying knowledge of mechanics shop mathematics metal properties layout and machining procedures.
- Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes milling machines shapers or grinders.
- Measures examines and tests completed unitsin order todetect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Basic Qualifications
Required Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position
- Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Experience operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes.
- Basic understanding G&M Codes
- Knowledge of insert wear.
- Ability to change your own tooling (inserts)
- Ability to use machining measurement equipment (i.e. calipers depth mics etc.)
- Mathematical skills.
- Technical expertise.
- Manual dexterity.
- Physical Stamina.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Leadership skills.
