Job Description
Staff Management Group is seeking a Forklift Operator for our client in Edison NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.
Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 7AM - 4PM
- Plus Overtime
Pay Rate:
- $18 / hour
Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and effective use of forklifts and related equipment to transport materials throughout a warehouse or industrial facility ensuring smooth inventory flow and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload shipments and handle packing and unpacking of materials.
- Sort and label products for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move inventory and supplies to designated areas within the warehouse or production floor.
- Operate forklifts winches and other material handling equipment as required for product transport.
- Monitor and update inventory records for items entering and leaving the facility.
- Follow all safety guidelines when handling hazardous materials including proper disposal when necessary.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift is required.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective coordination with team members.
- Basic computer and digital systems knowledge for tracking inventory.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Able to perform well in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
