Job Description

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (LBS1 Certified)

Employment Type: Full-TimeSchool Year

Start Date: August 2025

Our Organization is seeking a committed and compassionate Special Education Teacher with a valid Illinois LBS1 endorsement to join our dynamic team for theacademic year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in either a resource or self-contained classroom setting.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative educator who is skilled at delivering individualized instruction and adapting curriculum to meet each student s unique needs. You ll play a key role in fostering academic growth promoting social-emotional development and creating an inclusive supportive classroom environment.

As a Special Education Teacher you will be responsible for developing implementing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with both state and federal regulations. Your role will include differentiating instruction to meet the varied learning styles and needs of your students while delivering direct instruction in small groups or one-on-one settings. Collaboration will be essential as you will work closely with general education teachers related service providers and families to support each student s success. You will use progress monitoring tools to assess academic and behavioral growth adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure continued development. Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all IEP timelines and procedural requirements is critical. In the classroom you will foster a safe structured and encouraging environment that promotes positive behavior and academic achievement. Regular communication with parents and guardians will be expected to provide updates and reinforce a team-based approach to student progress.

Requirements

  • Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement.
  • Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher or a relevant role.
  • A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required. A Masters degree is a plus!
