Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in GIS Geography Cartography Computer Science Information Technologies or other related fields
- 5 years of experience in GIS related development and systems administration.
- Experience in GIS concepts and relational database administration is essential.
- Must be proficient in the coding of software and processing digital databases and using GIS programming languages Internet markup languages and other technologies.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users both orally and in writing.
Duties:
- Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications.
- Perform project planning requirements analysis database design development and administration. Work independently to maintain database dictionaries ensure database performance and resolve problems.
- Coordinate with GIS users to ensure implementation and monitoring of GIS databases.
- Manage the design and development of GIS databases and related master files and ensure system capacity for current and future requirements.
- Assist with the design and development of GIS applications and multi-layered maps.
- Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control.
