Job Description

We now have a great opportunity at our Geelong Refinerys Jetty operations for a Wharf Attendant to join our established team. Reporting to the Jetty Shift Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational support of monitoring product in and product out.  You will also complete regular maintenance inspections perform Quality testing sampling and cleaning.

This role operates within a rotating shift 24/7 and is a salaried position with attractive additional annual shift allowance provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Health & Safety critical processes are implemented and adhered to.
  • Promote our culture of Beyond Goal Zero showing visible leadership in Health & Safety activities.
  • Conduct daily checks of gantry equipment.
  • Complete routine operational observations of jetty facilities to ensure that product is received safely and efficiently with appropriate focus on product quality and interfaces including:
    • hose connection / disconnection including crane use / MLA operation to ships
    • line flushes and operation of sumps and
    • wharf watch and line monitoring.
  • Manage deliveries of fuel from the refinery to ships.
  • Ensure safe practices around gas detection.
  • Assist maintenance works by reviewing contractor Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) risk/hazard assessments.
  • Raise incidents reports assist with investigations and identify remedial actions.
  • Raise maintenance or inspection requests for equipment if required.
  • Assist site contractors performing relevant sampling and testing of product.

Qualifications :

  • You possess a focussed mindset towards health safety security and the environment.
  • Ideally you are trade qualified (preferred but not essential) however a general mechanical aptitude will ensure your success.
  • You are an effective communicator with the ability to work within teams.
  • You possess a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Hold a full Drivers licence.
  • Familiarity (or open to learn) the maintenance work order processes.
  • Strong communication with all internal and external customers.

You are able to complete the following Employer provided training:

  • Assessment and granted a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
  • Complete training to become a Testing Officer.
  • Qualify for WorkSafe high risk license for forklift operations and working at height.
