Job Description
The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.
In this role as a Sr Software Development Engineer you will be part of a fast-paced agile and innovative team who is bringing new Wi-Fi and networking experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer you will work closely with cross-functional teams to:
Architect develop and deliver Wi-Fi connectivity features for new and existing Amazon devices
Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features and experiences
Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to troubleshoot customer issues
Mentor junior and new team members

From products like FireTV Echo devices Smart home solutions and much more our team creates products to keep you connected to the things you love and need. Collaboration thinking outside the box innovation and long term thinking are at the core of how we operate. On this team you will be able to learn and teach others how to think outside the box stretching what is possible within our devices/technology by writing solid code and designing solutions that are extensible maintainable and scalable.
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in embedded wireless systems
- Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wi-Fi chipset vendors Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP DNS HTTP and HTTPS etc.
- Experienced in Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers
- Familiarity with Android and Linux development on kernel device drivers and frameworks
