Adjunct Instructor in Worship

Hours Per Week

3-5 instructional hours depending on course load with additional time for preparation and other duties.

Salary Range

$600 / credit hour for ensemble & lecture courses

($1800/semester for a 3-credit course)

$22.50 per half-hour applied music lesson

POSITION SUMMARY

Ohio Christian University seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Worship for the Circleville Campus.

We desire an instructor who is warmly supportive of the goals of the Worship program (below).

Candidates must have experience leading worship and graduate-level academic training in a related field (worship music and/or ministry).

The assignment will include courses like the following depending on the instructors experience and training and the curricular needs each semester:

  • Introduction to Worship Leadership
  • Planning and Leading Worship
  • Worship Band Techniques
  • Music Literature for Worship
  • Worship Leader Field Experience / Internship

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities

90%

Engage students in worship instruction that supports the stated goals of the OCU Worship Leadership program (below).

Assess student learning and performance and provide feedback to students.

Integrate the Christian worldview in students learning.

10%

Update and publish the course syllabus each semester.

Enter grades and attendance in OCUs learning management system Brightspace D2L.

Reports to: Dr. Dione Bennett Dr. Rodney Sones (program directors) Dr. Ron Adkins (Associate Dean School of Ministry)

QUALIFICATIONS

According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in leading worship is essential.

Masters degree in music worship ministry or a related area of study.
