JOB DESCRIPTION:

Underlimitedsupervisionperformssupervisoryandadministrativeworkoverseeingthe activitiesofmultiplesocialworkservice programsadministeredthrough theCitySocial Services Department. Primary designation is in the Foster Care/ Adoption unit. Tasks include directing coordinating and supervising theactivities of the divisions family services workers and clerical support staff assigningcasesandspecialprojects andensuringadherence isresponsibleforevaluatingtheeffectivenessofmultiplesocialworkservice programsofferedbytheCitySocialServices Departmentandrecommendingchangesasnecessary; monitoring the budget expenditures for the programandforpreparingvariousreportsstatisticalrecords participates in local and regional partnerships. Responsible for reviewing evaluating and directing Foster Care/ Adoption Family Services Workers. Position may require carrying a Foster Care caseload when needed. totheAssistantDirectorforServices. This position will require training in and possible work in other areas of the Family Services Division. Position also requires participation in a shared on-call rotation and sheltering during emergency events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-BachelorsdegreeinaHumanServicesfieldorminimum ofabachelorsdegreeinany fieldwithaminimum oftwoyearsofappropriateandrelatedexperienceinaHuman Servicesarea.

-Considerableexperienceinassignedprogram area/humanservicesprograms andcompletionofrequired trainingprograms.

-Supervisoryexperienceorwork experienceinaleadershiprole

-Equivalentcombinationoftrainingandexperiencewhichprovidestherequiredknowledgeskills andabilities.

- Requiresavalid driverslicense.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Prefermastersdegreeinsocialworksociologypublicadministrationpsychologyora related field and extensive professional social work experience.

-Preferworkingknowledge ofVADSSAdultServices AdultProtectiveServices FamilyServicesIntakeandCrisisInterventionpractices.

-Preferworkingknowledge ofVADSScasedocumentationsystemssuchasOASISPeer Place .

-Prefer completion of Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitation required trainings

-PreferexperiencewithAPS and CPS On-Call duties.

-Prefer supervisory experience or experience which reflects increased responsibilities due to varied and progressive assignments in a VA DSS.
