HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. Ability to guide and develop student growth in all areas ofperformance research and competitive strategy.
2. College degree.
ability to drive students to competition sites as required.

1. Experience/background in speech at the high school or collegiate level.
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for teaching students the various forms of speech; including the theories and skills underlying the various competition events. They will build and lead a team of students through regular speech contests schedule all practices and coordinate travel arrangements. They serve as the head speech coach and provide oversight to the speech activity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

2. Meet with students on a regular basis throughout the school year.
3. Stay informed on rules procedures and judging standards for speechevents.
4. Set practice/behavior standards required for students to participate in the program and enter tournaments.
5. Book tournament travel arrangements including transportation andlodging.
6. Coordinate student and judge entry and supervise and judge at weekend and evening tournaments.
7. Communicate regularly with parents through multiple mediums (email text Facebook etc.).
8. Assess strengths and weaknesses of the program to improve it from year to year.
9. Maintain open and ongoing communications with schooladministration.
10. Submit reports (with student evidence) and activity checklists to building and district administration as requested.
