About Shady Hill School: Since 1915 Shady Hill a school of approximately 530 students (PreK - Grade 8) and 90 faculty has been a leader in progressive education. Therefore we seek to hire individuals who demonstrate a mindset and skill set that prioritizes cultural competence equity and justice in their practice with students and in their work with colleagues.About the position: Shady Hill School is seeking a Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. The Front Desk is the primary information center of the school providing a warm welcome to all constituencies fielding questions and serving as an important point of contact for children and families coming and going from school. The Front Desk Coordinator manages the Front Desk email and phone lines and handles all student absence notifications late arrivals and student dismissal questions and changes. The hours are 7:45am - 4:15pm Monday - Friday from August through June. This is a full-time benefits-eligible hourly position. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a welcoming presence to children parents faculty staff and visitors
  • Answer calls and emails to Shady Hill School
  • Manage annual family student and staff registration and setup in SchoolPass (attendance/emergency response application)
  • Record and communicate daily student absences arrivals and departures and dismissal location changes in SchoolPass over the phone and via radio
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Transportation to coordinate daily school bus ridership lists
  • Create rosters in SchoolPass for each sports team each season (fall winter spring)
  • Receive and sort incoming mail prepare outgoing mail to be sent maintain copy machine and postage meter supplies order supplies and maintain employee phone listings
  • Participate in all mandatory health and safety training including CPR First Aid and emergency preparedness
