Job Description

Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting In-District applications for the following position(s) for summer 2025:

5th to 6th grade Transition Academy Summer School

Classified and/or Certified staff needed

(Multiple Positions Available dependent on # of student registrations)

This summer were excited to offer a Transition Academy designed to support current 5th graders as they prepare for middle school. Our focus is on students identified through their literacy needs and overall school outcomes using both literacy and school attendance data for selection. The goal is to ensure a smoother and more successful transition to 6th grade.

The academy curriculum will utilize iReady Reading and Math supplemented by various reading and writing activities to enhance student learning. Well also dedicate time to developing crucial student agency skills such as organization and collaboration to equip students for the upcoming school year. Additionally were partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of the Rogue Valley to provide engaging and enjoyable programming.

This 80-hour summer school program is mandated by a recently secured ODE grant. Were currently finalizing the specific dates and times and will share those details soon. Dates: Monday-Thursday

  • June 16th- June 18th (no session June 19th)
  • June 25th-June 27th
  • July 7th-July 10th
  • July 14th-July 17th
  • July 21st-July 24th

Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

Location: GP Junior High (formerly known as GPFLEX)

Rate of pay: Current hourly rate of pay for classified staff or per diem rate for certified staff. Prep time to be included.

Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.
