Job Description

JOB GOAL:

The Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) Curriculum Integration Specialist will play a vital role in our magnet school program working collaboratively with school teams to facilitate theme implementation across our four identified magnet schools. This position ensures all magnet curricula are fully aligned with Arkansas state standards while maintaining the integrity and innovation of each schools unique theme. The ideal candidate will be a skilled educator with experience in curriculum development professional development facilitation and building effective partnerships.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

11-month contract (220 days) plus benefit package.(Class Code: 1620) Salary Schedule: Range 120 ($52307 - $90884) NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and : Exempt

This is a grant funded position and dependent on grant renewal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Building-level and/or district-level administration certification preferred.
  1. Masters degree preferred.
  1. At least five (5) years of successful experience in education with special magnet focused interest/experience in curriculum and professional development.
  1. Knowledge of the school and District policy and procedures.
  1. Strong understanding of thematic curriculum integration approaches.
  1. In-depth knowledge of Arkansas state standards and curriculum frameworks.
  1. Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  1. Knowledge of best practices featured in magnet schools.
  1. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
  1. Evidence of strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

  1. Collaborate with curriculum and professional development teams to develop and align new magnet theme curricula that meet Arkansas state standards.
  1. Train school staff in the effective implementation of magnet curricula through coaching modeling and professional development.
  1. Serve as a liaison between schools and outside consultants providing on-site training for staff.
  1. Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations and agencies participating in the project and offering services to schools.
  1. Schedule develop and participate in professional development activities in collaboration with Magnet Site Coordinators.
  1. Provide coaching and modeling of effective instructional strategies aligned with magnet themes.
  1. Monitor implementation of magnet curricula across the four schools to ensure consistency and quality.
  1. Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of curriculum integration efforts.
  1. Expertise in curriculum mapping and alignment processes.
  1. Proficiency in data analysis to inform curriculum development.

  1. Creative problem-solving approach to curriculum integration challenges.
  1. Assists with preparation of federal reports board reports and other reports related to the MSAP grant.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
