Required: 4 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule. Cardiac Intensive Care is the one of 2 critical care units in the Heart and Vascular Institute at Forsyth Medical center. We are a 24-bed unit providing care of patients who are critically ill requiring the most advanced services like ventilators IABP PA Catheters Temporary Pacemakers Impellas and CRRT. Our patient population includes Acute Myocardial Infarctions cardiogenic shock septic shock heart failure respiratory failure that are vent dependent and vascular surgery patients. PYXIS EPIC SBAR. Special Procedures/Unit Details: 24 bed unit 2:1 patient to nurse ratio (may have 3:1 ratio depending on 1:1s). We have a TL and an Rapid Response responder each shift. We also have a medical unit receptionist no CNAs. Leadership includes 3 assistant nurse managers and nurse manager. Special Equipment: IABPs ventilators PA catheters Impellas CRRT TVPs. Certifications Required: ACLS BCLS NIH. Skills Required: Vents IV Start PA Lines Telemetry. Minimum Experience Required: 1 year (CVICU). Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler: Yes.
