Job Summary:

Do you have experience creating and presenting training courses

The Arizona Department of Correction Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an energetic communicator to join our team and train our staff. In this role you will coordinate and implement activities such as the annual training plan New Employee Orientation (NEO) at Central Office departmental surveys and support the development of exceptional staff instructors at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Phoenix.

Job Duties:

- Assists with employee training and development initiatives
- Plans and coordinates logistics for training activities including managing registration tracking attendance and maintaining participant records
- Analyzes and reports on instructor and course evaluation results
- Supervises staff instructors ensures proper training and certifications and evaluates their ongoing performance
- Supports agency-wide projects and initiatives related to staff development and training
- Facilitates classes workshops and New Employee Orientation at the Phoenix Complex Central Office and other locations as needed
- Demonstrates best practices in training delivery tailored to a corrections environment
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Instructional strategies and best practices

- Project support and coordination
- Criminal Justice System (Corrections)
- Personal computers and software used for data management

Ability to:
- Lift/carry 20 lbs.
- Push/pull 10 lbs.
- Walk/run 1 mile
- Critical thinking and reasoning through issues as they apply to staff training
- Work in a prison environment

Selective Preference(s):

- Bachelors degree in a field related to training and development (e.g. adult education communication or organizational development)
- Work experience in a training and development field
- Work experience in ADCRR or a correctional environment

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
