The Opportunity:

Washington State University Department of Plant Pathology Pullman WA The College of Agricultural Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) at Washington State University invites applications for a Research Associate position in the Department of Plant Pathology. The successful candidate will investigate genes involved in plant resistance and fungal pathogenicity with a focus on those active during specific developmental and infection stages of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research involving molecular genetics and biochemical analyses of pathogen infection processes and plant defense responses using Arabidopsis and canola as model systems. Candidates with experience in molecular plant pathology are especially encouraged to apply. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the initiative and drive to develop and advance an independent research project.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE) temporary position expected to end on August 15 2026. Renewal is dependent on program needs and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.


Annual Salary: $50000 - $55000 Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.
