    The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of
    Supervisor of Staff Development

    SUMMARY:

    The Supervisor of Staff Development serves as a leader in the field of Professional Development and has the knowledge and skills to support the strategic goal of increasing student achievement by supporting the continuous professional growth of teachers school leaders and non-instructional personnel. This role ensures that all initiatives align with the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) mandates and district priorities advancing instructional quality and student achievement. The Supervisor provides substantial assistance and support to the Director in the development and execution of long-range plans that promote professional growth instructional excellence and organizational alignment.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Masters Degree from an accredited college or university.
    2. New Jersey Permanent Supervisors Certificate.
    3. A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
    4. Two (2) years in a position that involves professional development is preferred e.g. literacy or mathematics coach PLC chairperson SLC subcommittee chairperson grade-level chairperson etc.
    5. Responsible for creating and meeting goals consistent with the districts mission and values.
    6. Knowledge of the New Jersey Professional Standards for teachers and school leaders the New Jersey Professional Development Standards and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
    7. Experience managing change and driving outcomes in complex environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
    8. Proven experience across large systems with evidence of successful impact.
    9. Strong knowledge of K-12 educational setting and best practices as identified in research preferably in an urban setting.
    10. Proven ability to write comprehensive reports correspondence and procedure manuals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Support the Director of Staff Development in implementation the Districts Strategic Plan.
    2. Support the development of district personnel through monthly conferences.
    3. Support the Deputy Superintendents initiatives relevant to Office of Academic Services.
    4. Assist development and support of School Leadership Councils (SLCs) and School Improvement Panels (SIPs) as defined in the NTU labor contract and relevant statutes and regulations.
    5. Collaborate with Office of Academic Services and Office of Planning Evaluation and Testing to ensure that staff development initiatives are based on student achievement data.
    6. Assist in the orientation process and on-going support for all teachers and school administrators.
    7. Provide on-going support to Mentor Teachers throughout the District.
    8. Ensure that all school leaders and teachers are made aware of professional development requirements set forth by the State of New Jersey and are well informed of professional development opportunities.
    9. Facilitate the continual learning of teachers and school leaders through collaboration with local colleges and universities (e.g. student interns and student teacher placements).
    10. Support consultants and vendors to provide professional development opportunities and services to all staff within the District.
    11. Respond to requests from principals and department heads for the creation and development of customized professional development and facilitation services.
    12. Analyze evaluation and training data to assess effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).
    13. Present quality assurance and instructional development strategies internally and externally.
    14. Observe support and evaluate office personnel as assigned.
    15. Manage the Offices budget including budget development and procurement.

    SALARY EMPLOYMENT PERIODAND UNION AFFILIATION:

    Salary: $107500 to $143500 (for 2025-2026 School Year)
    Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
    Union Affiliation: City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (C.A.S.A.)
