York Adult Education is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Language Arts Instructor to teach reading writing and test-taking strategies to adult learners. This part-time position is held on Monday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for two 15-week terms (30 weeks total).Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging lessons in reading comprehension essay writing grammar and critical learners working toward a variety of goals including basic skill development high school diploma credit HiSET preparation and college student progress and provide targeted instruction to meet individual learning test-taking strategies and academic skills relevant to standardized tests and postsecondary accurate records of student attendance progress and with colleagues and administration to ensure student success and alignment with program teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and technology effectively for instructional delivery including the ability to facilitate blended in-person/live online :Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred) ME teacher certification required (HS English or Adult Education English).Experience teaching reading and writing skills to diverse learners especially adult with high school equivalency standards (e.g. HiSET) and college prep classroom management communication and organizational to differentiate instruction to meet varying academic with educational technology and online tools for instructional support including online learning platforms.$27.50 per hour for teaching time and preparation totaling 3 hours per candidates should submit a resume cover letter and contact information for professional references to Lisa Robertson ().
