JOB SUMMARY
Be knowledgeable in and model evidence-based effective practices in curriculum instruction assessment and standards for English Learners. Recommend and provide professional learning opportunities that accelerate student learning in achieving targeted outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supports effective English Learner (EL) service delivery in schools
- Initiate coordinate and plan professional learning to maintain and improve instruction for English Learners
- Provides observations and feedback for EL teachers to ensure quality instructional practices
- Delivers job-embedded professional learning and coaching
- Models best instructional practices to teachers of English Learners
- Assists district and school leaders with instructional best practices for teaching English Learners
- Develops curriculum guidelines and effective resources to support English Learners
- Supports teachers with English Learner data management
- Ensures compliance with Title III Part A English Learner Acquisition Language Enhancement and Academic Achievement Act component
- Disseminates information pertaining to English Learner education to district and community stakeholders
- Supports data analysis for instructional decision-making
- Supports work placement of district-wide itinerant English Learner teachers
- Serves on state community and other professional committees
- Maintains positive work relationships.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Masters Degree and/or Rank 1
- Master level teacher with at least 3 years of successful teaching experience teaching English Learners
Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
- EL Endorsement K-12
- Consultant Endorsement (or the ability to receive such endorsement)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work is performed while standing sitting and/or walking
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech vision and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires bending squatting crawling climbing reaching
- Requires the ability to lift carry push or pull light weights
