Grades 6-8 ONLINE LEARNING TEACHER& PROGRAM COORDINATOR
(Alternative Learning Experience Position)
Supervisor: QIA principal
Salary Range: QEA Salary Schedule
Location: Quincy Innovation Academy
Conditions of work: 1.0 FTE/180 days
School Year:2025-2026
SUMMARY:
This position supports program coordination and teaching of grades 6 7 and 8 students in the QIA online learning program. Students come in person one day per week attend a Google meet 1-2 times per week and thenworkindependently online for the rest of their weekly required learning hours. This teacher coordinator will also be responsible for managing WA OSPI required alternative learning program compliance items and management of our Edgenuity courseware platform.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide instructional support toGrades 6-8 online learners using the Edgenuity course platform
Ensure compliance with WA OSPI Alternative Learning requirements including WA State Learning Plans (WSLPs) weekly progress reports monthly progress reports and intervention plans
Identify student strengths and needs to develop and deliver face-to-face and online interventions
Effectively manage student engagement and behavior in both online and in person learning environments
Monitor student progress data and provide feedback and support tostudents
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
Support student learning of essential standards in all content areas usingevidence based practices foreffective instruction for both in person and online learning environments
Support student learning of effective use of AI tools and other forms of educational technology while fostering positive digital citizenship
Teach executive functioning skills needed for success in the online program such as time management and task prioritization
Coordinate and proctor state or district assessments as required
Collaborate with high school online program teachers to support Grades 6-12 online program needs
Perform related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position
Perform other duties as assigned by the Quincy Innovation Academy principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Washington State Teacher Certificate with Elementary K-8 or middle level endorsement
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
Have experience with knowledge of and skill in supporting colleagues families and students in utilizing educational materials and technology.
Demonstrated successful experience with time management organization and prioritization skills
Ability to applyevidence based teaching practices in a primarily online format
Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations demonstratestronginterpersonal skills and take initiative to manage complex tasks
Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
