Position Overview:

About The Role:

  • Colour assessment for lab dips (fabrics yarns & trims) for quality and visual consistency this includes visual (under the light box) and digital (using a spectrophotometer) review.
  • Review and Approve/Reject print strike off submissions
  • Track and analyze lab dips to ensure timely commercialization against product calendar in PLM
  • Ensure data integrity on both new and carry-over fabrications
  • Execute lab dip requests through collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Partner with PIC QA Design and Merch for colour approval exceptions/limitations management
  • Manage colour library of physical colour standards and palettes for the product team
  • Ensure data accuracy in PLM system
  • Maintain Lab Dip approval binders and lab dip filing
  • Maintain department colour tools (physical and digital)
  • Ensure colour execution and performance meet Canada Gooses rigorous performance standards.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and colour providers
  • Provides weekly updates to cross-functional team on seasonal colour and AOP developments.

About You:

  • Degree in Textiles Textile Engineering or Fashion Design
  • 3-year experience working as a Colourist role in the apparel industry preferably with Outerwear and performance woven and knit experience
  • Experience working in PLM and with colour lifecycle management systems
  • Ability to utilize tools for advanced colour assessment (spectrophotometer)
  • Technically sound materials and colour development background within the Apparel or Textile industry
  • Ability to anticipate problems offers solutions and address issues with colour/prints in order to meet the Design aesthetic goals
  • Must pass Munsell 100 Colour Test and have a trained colour eye
  • Knowledge of dyeing and finishing processes
  • Familiarity with AATCC standards
  • Ability to work independently or with limited guidance
  • Effective communicator verbal and written. Strong and confident presentation skills.
  • Organization skills ability to prioritize workloads meet critical deadlines manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and aptitude
  • Process driven and able to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Experience working with vendors outside of North America
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office Illustrator PLM)
