What we are looking for: The Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations is responsible for the management and accounting functions of the Districts financial and physical resources for the purpose of maximizing the successful execution of the long-term educational program. The Assistant Superintendentof Finance and Operations is responsible for development of annual and long-range budgets current and long-term planning accounting and timely reporting of all financial matters. Significant areas of responsibility include accounting budgeting payroll and benefits purchasing insurance internal audit cash flow custodial grounds maintenance and transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Finance & Budget Management: Oversee all aspects of district financial operations including budgeting accounting payroll and compliance with auditing and bond requirements.
  • Capital & Facilities Management: Manage district building projects capital outlay programs and contracted services ensuring efficient facility operations and energy conservation.
  • Compliance Reporting & Coordination: Ensure district compliance by preparing reports leading grant applications coordinating instructional calendars and serving as a liaison with municipalities and safety departments.
  • Student & Enrollment Services: Oversee pupil accounting residency verification enrollment projections and open enrollment processes to ensure accurate data and resource alignment.
  • Risk Management & Operations: Oversee insurance co-lead cybersecurity and emergency operations and provide staff training to manage risks and ensure district preparedness.
  • Supervision: Directly supervise Pupil Accounting Accountant Director of Operations (part time) Business Administration Assistant Operations and Technology Assistant and Transportation.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead goal Area 5 of the Strategic Plan: Align Human financial and physical resources to ensure integrity and equity in resource allocation and planning.
  • Explore facility reorganization or the consolidation to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of programs and services to our students.
  • Manage third party contracts with custodial maintenance and transportation to improve quality.
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting Business or a Management-related field from an accredited college or university
  • Three years of successful Business Office experience and/or school administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Organizational skills; community oriented

Salary Data:range based on experience $122149 - $138634 (261 days) non-affiliate position with benefit package. Reports to the Superintendent.
