Position Overview:
This role is a part of the Washington Design Center for Airplane Systems Engineering and is tasked with ensuring that todays designs meet the highest level of aviation safety customer needs manufacturing productivity and operational efficiency. This role has responsibility from concept to delivery and the team provides world class in-service support. The primary focus areas of this position are support of Everett models () in the areas of ECS-Electrical and ECS integration.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Integration and Electrical Engineering.
Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.
Manages develops and motivates employees.
Coordinates engagement with BCA engineering counterparts located at USA Long Beach site North Charleston SC and international partners.
Acquires resources for projects and processes including budget and staffing.
Provides technical and project oversight of suppliers.
Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
Leads and fosters process improvements and inspire the team forward on their Lean Journey.
Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand courage to speak up active listening and servant leadership to manage develop and motivate employees.
Work Authorization:
This position is required to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Everett WA).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
5 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
3 years of experience working within Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Experience with project management methodologies.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
3 years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.
Experience in managing or implementing agile work management.
Knowledge of Environmental Control Systems and how they integrates with aircraft
Knowledge of Electrical aspects of airplane systems
Experience in advising and influencing non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
Knowledge of the Boeing production system and working with suppliers and Supply Chain
Knowledge of skills and abilities required by non-management employees to accomplish daily operational responsibilities.
Knowledge of established policies and procedures that typically affect non-management employees.
Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values
Demonstrated ability in team building coaching and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.
