Job Title:Custodial / Day Porter
Position Summary:
The Day Porter plays a vital role in maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors throughout the school day. This position supports the mission and values of the Catholic school by ensuring that the facilities reflect the standards of care and respect consistent with a faith-based educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of high-traffic areas (e.g. restrooms hallways classrooms cafeteria and offices) throughout the day.
- Monitor and restock supplies such as soap paper towels and toilet paper.
- Respond promptly to spills accidents or urgent cleaning needs.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for school events Masses assemblies and meetings.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas including entrances lobbies and outdoor walkways.
- Support minor maintenance tasks (e.g. changing light bulbs reporting repairs).
- Ensure trash and recycling are collected and disposed of regularly.
- Provide courteous and respectful assistance to staff students and visitors.
- Uphold and model the values and mission of the Catholic school in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior custodial or facilities experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs stand/walk for extended periods and perform manual labor.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and adhere to child protection policies.
- Respect for the Catholic faith and the values of the school community.
Work Environment:
- School campus environment with frequent interaction with students faculty and visitors.
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours for special events.
