Part-Time Academic Instructor (NURS 303)
The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a part-time Academic Instructor to teach (3 credits) NURS 303 (Indigenous Perspectives of Health and Healing) in the winter term of the 2025-2026 academic year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Disrupting the dominant settler narrative this course centers Indigenous voices and epistemologies as it explores the strength resilience and innovation of Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous worldviews of wellness and (w)holistic conceptualizations of health are considered as we enter relational spaces in the context of equity informed healthcare. This course will be framed around the presence of Indigenous Elders/Knowledge Holders culturally responsive pedagogies and grounded with opportunities for land-based & Treaty informed learning.

Duties
Part-Time Academic Instructor positions involve the normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course including but not limited to preparation and delivery of course content; development administration and marking of assignments tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; and holding regular office hours.
Qualifications
We seek candidates familiar with the Indigenous worldviews of wellness and holistic conceptualization of health. This course is framed around the presence of Indigenous/Knowledge Holders culturally responsive pedagogies and grounded with opportunities for land-based and Treaty informed learning.
Candidates should have a PhD or Masters degree with significant experience in the course area. Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an asset.
