Job Description
Job Title: RN Oncology
Job Location: Woodbridge VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Description:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients physical and emotional health.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patient interactions.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols infection control measures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
- Collaborate with oncologists radiologists social workers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Assist in scheduling treatments follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests.
- Facilitate referrals to support services such as palliative care nutrition and rehabilitation.
- Educate patients and families about cancer diagnoses treatment options and potential side effects.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Offer guidance on symptom management and coping strategies.
- Administer chemotherapy immunotherapy radiation therapy and other oncology treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and manage side effects and adverse reactions associated with cancer treatments.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of chemotherapy agents and related materials.
