Job Description

Supply Chain Coordinator- Norfolk VA

Shift: 1st Shift 7:15AM-04:00PM

Pay Rate: $38.52/Hr. on W2

Job description:

Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator (SCC) to support the modernization conversions and overhaul of government and commercial ships. This position will be an integrated part of the Program Management team with responsibility to oversee and manage the Materials and Subcontractors during program execution (Prime Contract).

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of ship repair and experience through project management planning operations and supply chain processes to ensure compliance with all requirements and directives throughout the program life-cycle.
  • The individual selected for this position will work closely with Supply Chain Program Management managing Materials and Subcontracts to proactively address Supplier performance throughout the program life-cycle. SCC will also be required to collaboratively work with procurement / subcontract administrators throughout to ensure performance expectations and subcontract documentation align and are developed compliant to governing customer regulations (FAR DFAR NAVSEA standards or Commercial / maritime regulations).
  • As a Supply Chain Coordinator you will: Communicate contract requirements specifications and customer expectations to all departments and subcontractors
  • Execute contracts in compliance with local state and federal safety and environmental guidelines
  • Prepare project reports for management identifying variances to project plans that may need immediate attention
  • Ensure subcontractors are performing to the integrated project plans including detailed production schedules and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with relevant guidelines specifications and requirements such as NAVSEA USCG ABS and OSHA regulations
  • Oversee subcontractor efforts and resolving problems that cannot be resolved by assigned craft supervision
  • Conduct ship checks attending meetings and participating in setting up production schedules and manpower projections
  • Ensure subcontractors are aware of milestones key events and target dates for assigned work

Required Skills:

  • Experience with excel Ability to multi-task FAR DFAR experience
  • Proven experience in project management coordination and leadership with a focus on driving execution and delivering results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong people management and team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with internal stakeholders including Estimating Quality Assurance and Testing Environmental and Production Support teams
  • Ability to assess production progress identify areas for improvement and discuss production status with senior leadership and project management teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies Strong knowledge of ship repair and shipbuilding processes including NAVSEA USCG ABS and OSHA regulations as well as industry best practices and standards
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices including the ability to understand and analyze project performance metrics such as schedule performance index (SPI) cost performance index (CPI) and budget at completion (BAC) to inform project decisions and drive successful outcomes

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in project management coordination and leadership with a focus on driving execution and delivering results in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • HS Diploma and 3 years work experience in a ship repair environment
