Sacred Heart Medical Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our surgical services team. In this vital role the Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub technologist in the operating room and other clinical settings ensuring the effective preparation and execution of surgical procedures.
The role involves selecting and setting up sterile instruments supplies and equipment assisting the surgical team during procedures maintaining a sterile field and ensuring proper post-procedure care of surgical tools. Surgical Technologists may also serve in additional support roles such as Case Cart Technician Turnover Team Member or Service Line Specialist to help facilitate efficient patient flow and maintain operating room readiness.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and organize sterile surgical instruments supplies and equipment for procedures
Assist the surgeon by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique throughout the operation
Maintain surgical field integrity and troubleshoot issues as needed during procedures
Perform post-operative instrument care and support OR turnover activities
Collaborate with the RN and surgical team to ensure high standards of safety efficiency and patient care
Support additional roles such as case cart preparation surgical suite turnover or service line assignments
Contribute to achieving key performance indicators for OR throughput and patient experience
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration (required upon hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required upon hire)
Current experience as a registered Surgical Technologist
Recent completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program may be considered as qualifying experience
Preferred:
Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience in a hospital or surgical center setting
