Job Description

Position Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: Nuclear Medicine
Location: Athena Medtech

Work Schedule
  • Shift: Monday Friday 08:00 AM 04:30 PM

  • Hours per Week: 40

Position Summary

Athena Medtech is seeking a qualified and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. This role involves utilizing specialized imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of nuclear medicine practices safety protocols and patient care.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associates Degree in a related field required

    • Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred

  • Certifications (Required):

    • One of the following primary certifications:

      • CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)

      • ARRT(N) Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT)

    • BLS Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)

    • CTNM State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine (all scopes including venipuncture)

  • Preferred Certifications:

    • ARRT(CT) Computed Tomography

    • NMTCB(PET) Positron Emission Tomography

    • NMTCB(NCT) Nuclear Cardiology Technologist

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain gamma cameras and other imaging equipment used to detect and map radiopharmaceuticals within the body

  • Accurately position patients and select proper imaging parameters based on the clinical indication

  • Prepare administer and properly dispose of radiopharmaceuticals following established safety protocols

  • Adhere to all radiation safety procedures to protect patients colleagues and oneself

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of imaging data and documentation to PACS with proper labeling and patient history

  • Monitor and report equipment issues performing lock-out/tag-out procedures as necessary

  • Maintain a clean organized and compliant work environment

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
