Job Description
Position Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: Nuclear Medicine
Location: Athena Medtech

Shift: Monday Friday 08:00 AM 04:30 PM

Hours per Week: 40
Athena Medtech is seeking a qualified and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. This role involves utilizing specialized imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of nuclear medicine practices safety protocols and patient care.
Qualifications-
Education:
-
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associates Degree in a related field required

Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred

Certifications (Required):
-
One of the following primary certifications:
-
CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
-
ARRT(N) Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT)
-
-
BLS Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
-
CTNM State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine (all scopes including venipuncture)

Preferred Certifications:
-
ARRT(CT) Computed Tomography
-
NMTCB(PET) Positron Emission Tomography
-
NMTCB(NCT) Nuclear Cardiology Technologist
-
-
Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
-
Operate and maintain gamma cameras and other imaging equipment used to detect and map radiopharmaceuticals within the body
-
Accurately position patients and select proper imaging parameters based on the clinical indication
-
Prepare administer and properly dispose of radiopharmaceuticals following established safety protocols
-
Adhere to all radiation safety procedures to protect patients colleagues and oneself

Ensure timely and accurate submission of imaging data and documentation to PACS with proper labeling and patient history
-
Monitor and report equipment issues performing lock-out/tag-out procedures as necessary

Maintain a clean organized and compliant work environment

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
