Manage all TEA Special Education Compliance work streams and utilize project management tools to achieve target outcomes.
Ensure compliance and neutrality while utilizing district-approved procedural requirements such as ARD meeting agendas and ARD scripts.
Operate under the premise that a facilitator is not a member of the ARD committee and has no decision-making authority over the ARD committee meeting. The facilitator must be impartial and cannot provide input or an opinion into the development of a students IEP.
Assists with the overall organization and conduct of the ARD committee meeting by: assisting the committee in establishing an agenda and setting the time allotted for the meeting; assisting the committee in establishing a set of guidelines for the meeting; guiding the discussion and keeping the focus on developing a mutually-agreed-upon IEP for the student; ensuring that each committee member has an opportunity to participate; helping to resolve disagreements that arise and helping to keep the ARD committee on task and within the time allotted for the meeting.
Develop and implement targeted professional learning plans to bring awareness to the Special Education Operating Procedures to central-campus based special education and school leadership personnel.
Assist with the resolution of critical cases as they relate to students receiving special education services to include parent complaints mandated record requests and Staffings in a positive problem-solving manner.
Assist with the internal investigations of parent complaint investigation requests referred from the Texas Education Agency as needed.
Coordinate and co-facilitate resolution meetings to develop focused/targeted supports for corrective action with central-campus based special education and school leadership personnel to ensure correct implementation of students Individualized Education Program.
Assist with critical case monitoring and tracking to ensure compliance of mandated corrective actions within the TEA Investigative Report.
Conduct professional learning for department initiatives as needed or requested; develop and facilitate workshops and/or training modules for TEA Special Education Compliance including critical case management with related internal stakeholders.
Continually evaluate systems of support through project outcomes in correlation with objectives critical case trends campus support responsiveness parent engagement and assisting campus administration with critical case resolution.
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with state federal and district guidelines.
Attend training(s) to keep abreast of technical legislative and professional trends and developments affecting assigned responsibilities.
Prepare reports and planning documents requiring technical precision accuracy readability and editorial correctness; and develop systems based on management by objective and results.
Maintain accurate records organizational skills and professional conduct to achieve the goals of the position.
Coordinate the activities of the department in accordance with the districts policies and applicable laws.
Perform all duties relating to the IDEA-B formula grant at 100 percent.
Required Bachelors Degree from an accredited university.
Preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate administrative certificate or any equivalent combination of education training and experience within an educational institution preferred.
Required 5 Direct Minimum five years of experience in education.
Substantial experience leading cross functional teams on strategic districtwide initiatives.
Strong record of self-starting and taking initiative.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong proficiency in technology skills (Microsoft Office and Google Suite).
Ability to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
Participate and support the development of an effective team in the department.
Proficiency in leading planning organizing and conducting effective professional development at a district level.
Skills in coaching mentoring building teams problem-solving and taking initiative.
Effectively analyze problems issues and concerns and formulate appropriate alternative solutions.

Understanding of school district organizations operations and administrative policies.
Must have experience or demonstrated a desire to work in an urban school district.
