Job Description

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Supervisor 3 64119 or equivalent. Or in offices of statewide information technology policy & planning positions require completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example COBOL Delphi Java Powerbuilder Visual Basic Pl 1 SAS PCS Pacbase Full Visual Suite Designer 2000 Developer 2000 C C Visual C ECL or Visual Studio) logic-based mathematics data base concepts (for example Oracle Microsoft Access Paradox Sybase IMS DB DB2 Cache DMS or RDMS) computer systems analysis & design & basic data processing concepts; 3 yrs. exp. in utilizing word processing software; 3 yrs. exp. in utilizing internet browser(s) for research; 54 mos. exp. which included following: knowledge of information technology architecture components developing information technology strategic plans preparing & making presentations/public speaking writing information technology related policy & procedures preparing & monitoring budget providing cost & resources estimates & contract management; 2 yrs. exp. in utilizing e-mail system; 18 mos. exp. in project management or lead role on information technology project;12 mos. exp. in utilizing spreadsheet software; 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Supervisor 3 64119 or equivalent.

About the Role
The information Technology Manager role will lead the IT Help Desk and infrastructure teams strategic and operational planning to ensure efficient and secure IT operations.
This role will:
- Oversee the IT Help Desk and infrastructure teams strategic and operational planning fostering innovation project management and resource optimation.
- Analyze technology needs develop and implement hardware/software solutions conduct testing and ensure ongoing system operations.
- Schedule work assignments set priorities and direct the work of subordinate employees to maintain efficient operations.
- Monitor and administer IT security network server and endpoint activity investigating and resolving system alerts and potential threats.
- Respond to system alerts fine-tune security event rules escalate issues and enhance service efficiency through process improvements and staff training.
To be successful the ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive IT Help Desk and Infrastructure Expertise
- Proven Leadership & Project Management
- Strong background in Security & Threat Analysis
- Experience in Systems Administration & Maintenance
- Proven ability in Process Improvement & Customer Service

The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is a cabinet-level agency within the executive branch of the Ohio state government. The director of ODA is a member of the Governors cabinet serving as principal advisor and advocate for 2.8 million older adults and their families. Salary Information
Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases successful employees will move up a step in the salary range within six months with subsequent step increases occurring every year as supported by successful performance evaluation results. We also offer cost of living adjustments longevity supplements after five years of eligible public service and wellness incentives.

The final Background check candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
