Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Database Developer Apprentice who can design develop test and maintain databases to meet the needs of our organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with database management systems data modeling and SQL programming. You will work closely with our Information Technology team to ensure seamless integration of databases with our applications. There will also be opportunities for full-time employment based on performance and completion of apprenticeship program.
Responsibilities
Adding new functionality into GFAs donor database solution
Tuning and optimizing database programs and data structures
Data or execution problem analysis and debugging
Transforming summarizing and deriving data.
Database program unit testing and code review
Adhering to GFA code management documentation and deployment procedures.
Designing appropriate database structures for new or extended functionality.
Requirements:
- US citizenship required
- Single and 18 required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Database administration training or experience
Nice to Have:
- Certification in database administration or related field (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Complex query and procedural SQL development for relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred)
