Job Description

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on Palliative Care and/or Cancer Rehabilitation. Applicants must have an M.D. D.O. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible. Candidates with strong clinical training and Fellowship completion will be preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and mentoring of Penn medical students residents and allied professionals. As an academic faculty member the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide outstanding teaching and mentoring for Penn medical students and residents as well as allied professionals.

Clinical responsibilities may include working closely with other surgical and non-surgical teams to provide the highest level of interdisciplinary care to a wide range of patients. This role will serve as attending physician for a comprehensive integrated inpatient service consult service and outpatient program.

Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and leadership abilities to effectively lead our interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Candidates should be enthusiastic and have a commitment to furthering the clinical services and advancing the academic missions of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
