Project Manager
Approximate 12-month contract Canberra Location $78.95 - $107.72 per hour plus 12% superannuation NV2 Required
OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. With a sound understanding of the PSPF the contractor will project manage the delivery of a large-scale access control project. This will include contract administration building regulation compliance fee negotiation with specialist contractors managing allocated budgets governance reporting and managing the project locally and remotely.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with the project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Manage project scope risks and stakeholder expectations to ensure integration of project activities.
- Mange the design and documentation through the 5 project phases Initiation/Design and Document/Delivery/HOTO/DLP.
- Manage project variations and changes and maintain the change control process.
- Coordinate and prepare regular progress reports and communication with key stakeholders.
- Follow established and where necessary create project administration systems document control and record management processes.
- Prepare manage review and update project documentation including risk and communications plans in conjunction with team and project members.
- Manage project costs through cost estimating budgeting monitoring and contingency management.
- Manage the risk management process including the development of contingency plans reviewing residual risks and escalating risks that cannot be managed at the project level.
- Identify and document lessons learned during the project.
- Ensure the project meets its legislative obligations eg: Workplace Health and Safety Act Disability Discrimination Act
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders and develop project briefs to deliver security upgrade projects.
- Good understanding and experience in delivering construction and physical security infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Security Construction Equipment Committee (SCEC).
- Experience managing procurement of consultants and contractors to deliver security projects.
- Ability to review designs against the project brief and to check for consistency usability and that security components have been implemented.
- Experience with Gallagher Security Solution EACS is desirable.
- Ability to identify issues prior to commencing components of the build and re-prioritise if required.
- Willingness to undertake site visits where required.
- Experience developing statement of work/Requirements for external contractors drafting work orders and ensuring work is delivered accordingly.
