Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for food manufacturing and operational excellence
Bell Flavors & Fragrances is looking for a Weekend Assistant Production Manager to support and lead weekend operations at our Northbrook plant. In this critical role youll help ensure smooth production uphold food safety and quality standards and drive performance to meet customer demands.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support weekend production staff to meet daily goals in safety quality and efficiency.
- Execute production schedules and monitor workflow to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies SQF standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Enforce and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to production sanitation and inventory.
- Support employee training development and performance feedback.
- Partner with maintenance and engineering to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Promote a strong culture of safety and proactively address hazards.
- Collaborate with weekday managers to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent operations.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food manufacturing or production supervision.
- Strong understanding of FDA OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Ability to lead a team solve problems on the spot and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- HACCP Food Defense or SQF certifications (or willingness to obtain).
