Posting Summary
With leadership from the UVM Director of Research Development and the Associate Dean for Research within the Larner College of Medicine ( LCOM ) this position will provide strategic planning and substantive grantsmanship and grant writing support as well as supplement project management assistance for LCOM faculty seeking large complex external funding opportunities with an emphasis on federally sponsored research projects/grants. Key functions include: 1) participate in strategic planning for responses to large complex funding opportunities including interpretation of the funding opportunity announcement; 2) provide comprehensive grantsmanship review of multicomponent proposals; 3) assist faculty with timeline/deadline management in collaboration with the Research Development Project Manager; and 4) edit proposals for clarity and responsiveness prior to submission. This position reports to the UVM Research Development Team Lead for Complex Proposals and Strategic Positioning.
Desirable Qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant biomedical or STEM discipline. Experience developing successful grant proposals to federal sponsors desirable particularly NIH . Experience navigating biomedical sponsor priorities and review processes. Experience writing and editing materials in a wide range of disciplines. Project management expertise or experience leading deadline-driven teams. Ability to create figures and other graphical representations of data. Ability to develop/interpret budgets for sponsored projects. Ability to adapt and respond quickly to time-sensitive proposal demands.
