Job Description

Why Patients Need You

The Director of Special Events & Colleague Engagement is responsible for overall project management planning and executing all aspects of the 2026 Specialty Care POA. The Director collaborates with Specialty Care Leadership Team and Brand POA Captains to develop event themes objectives execution strategies manage budgets coordinate with vendors and ensure successful delivery of the end-to-end experience. The Director of Colleague Engagement & Special Events also helps leaders extend the value and return on the investment of POAs by building a strong communication and reinforcement plan pre-and post POA. He/She will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive organizational effectiveness ensure inclusive collaboration and achieve desired outcomes associated with large-scale national meetings.

What You Will Achieve

Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to define the vision and success metrics to establish execution goals criteria and impact measurement plan for the National Sales Meeting for the Specialty Care Business Unit
Recruit and optimize POA Planning Team by ensuring meetings have clear agendas that support leadership priorities and strengthen team dynamics with actions tracked to completion in a timely manner and updates provided proactively to stakeholders
Create and maintain cross-enterprise relationships to coordinate and manage parallel and intersecting dependencies of the meeting planning (e.g. agendas leadership participation shared venues)
Plan and oversee the timeline of relevant POA planning meetings actions and communications to ensure awareness of upcoming milestones and deadlines
Onboard set expectations and manage Pfizers Meeting & Destination Management (DMC) vendors; 2026 may have new enterprise vendors and additional education / training may be needed to ensure new teams understand Commercial ways of working
Produce clear presentations to keep leadership informed of progress ensure leader alignment and escalate decisions / approvals / help needed
Liaise with the SC Colleague Advisory Board and LT-1 teams as appropriate to solicit input gather feedback facilitate alignment and drive inclusive execution
Introduce initiatives to promote POA team culture and broader colleague engagement including wellness learning growth and development
Eliminate barriers and silos and in foster a culture of courage creativity collaboration and communication

How You Will Achieve It

Strategic Planning: Project manage event strategies goals success metrics and messaging to align with business objectives.
Event Management: Facilitate planning and execution of all Specialty Care events from initial concept to post-event follow-up.
Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets negotiating vendor contracts and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors including venues destination management companies AV equipment providers and other event support services.
Logistics: Ensure effective management event logistics including venue selection catering AV equipment transportation and accommodation.
Team Leadership: Schedule and lead POA team planning calls providing guidance support and overall meeting timeline management.
Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and drive increased engagement.
Data Analysis: Track and evaluate event success identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Must-Have

Bachelors degreewith 8 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry or equivalent
5 years of project management and meeting planning experience
The successful candidate will be a well-organized creative independent self-motivated individual with exceptional written and oral communication skills
Preference for a strong interest in learning more about our Specialty Care key assets and capabilities

Nice-to-Have

Robust Pfizer organization Specialty Care Business Unit and Business Line knowledge / experience
Experience with providing executive level communication discussion facilitation and decision-making support
Demonstrate business acumen strong project management and multi-tasking skills ability to work on tight timelines and proven track record of partnering with all levels of the organization in a professional and discreet manner
Proven ability in independently manage day-to-day Planning and Communication activities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop a network of trusted relationships with peers and internal and external stakeholders
Possess a high energy level sense of urgency creativity decisiveness ability to work well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to influence without hierarchy across the matrix organization
Proven ability to develop creative solutions to business challenges
High emotional intelligence and strong capability to resolve conflicts efficiently
