At Lancashire County Council we are committed to building a better Lancashire where everyone can live their best life. As a Public Health Specialist youll play a crucial role in achieving this by improving health and wellbeing outcomes and reducing health inequalities across Lancashire.

As a Public Health Specialist within the Health Improvement team you will lead the development and implementation of policies aimed at enhancing health and wellbeing. A key focus of this role is to reduce health inequalities related to Community Safety Domestic Abuse and Counter Terrorism. You will ensure the delivery of our statutory responsibilities while fostering strong partnerships within our communities to advocate for improved health outcomes.

As a leader in the Stronger and Safer Communities team youll cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere. You will promote a culture of continuous learning and take an optimistic approach to challenges.

What were looking for:

  • Significant experience at a senior management level redesigning and managing large complex public health and wellbeing services. Youll be able to implement a strategic vision within an agreed budget.
  • Extensive knowledge of public health and wellbeing services with experience implementing best practice in a community setting.
  • Strong analytical project and change management skills. Youll be able to communicate these changes effectively and motivate your teams to deliver service objectives.
