As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking Payment Technology Team youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Design and implement database solutions based on business requirements.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries stored procedures and functions.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.
- Monitor database performance and make necessary improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database design and development.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Proven experience as a Database Developer
- Strong knowledge of leading the end-to-end migration of data from WPI to iAccess (a must)
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle SQL Server).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design concepts.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy practices.
- Customer focus Excellent problem-solving skills analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently plan organize prioritize and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. AWS RDS Azure SQL Database).
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB Cassandra).
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
